By Zoila Palma: Ya’axché Conservation Trust is participating in a workshop on the initial guidelines for the first grant cycle of the Protection of Natural Resources of the Selva Maya II Project in Flores, Petén, Guatemala.
The workshop brings together partner organizations benefiting from the project’s first grant cycle.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is facilitating the workshop, which brings together technical, administrative, financial and monitoring staff to review the guidelines governing the implementation of funded sub-projects. The sessions focus on technical, financial management, environmental and social requirements to ensure effective coordination and implementation in line with the project’s objectives.
Ya’axché’s sub-project, titled “Safeguarding Selva Maya: An Integrated Approach for Biodiversity Conservation, Cultural Preservation and Sustainable Livelihoods in Toledo, Belize,” aims to support conservation and sustainable development in southern Belize.
