The disruption also affected British digital bank Revolut, which reported issues with multiple services. A source close to the matter linked the bank’s problems to the Google Cloud outage. Revolut said it had been working to resolve the issue since identifying it.
The bank apologised to customers affected by the disruption. However, Revolut assured users that their money and personal data remained safe. The statement sought to address concerns about the impact of the service interruption.
Meanwhile, internet outage tracker Downdetector recorded hundreds of reports involving several UK services. These included lenders Lloyds Bank and HSBC, property website Rightmove and postal service Royal Mail. The reports indicated that the disruption extended beyond Revolut.

Google’s London data centre serves its europe-west2 region, where the company identified the network failures. The incident highlighted how cloud infrastructure problems can affect multiple online services at once. Businesses that rely on cloud platforms may experience disruptions when those systems encounter technical issues.
Google said its engineering team continued to investigate the incident but did not disclose its cause. Meanwhile, Revolut continued working to restore affected services. The company had not provided further details about the disruption’s full impact in the reported update.
