MUSCAT: The International Financial Centre of Oman (IFC Oman) is expected to play a significant role in attracting foreign and domestic investment, strengthening the Sultanate’s position as a global financial hub and supporting economic diversification under Oman Vision 2040, according to Rajendran KR, Associate Partner of Kreston Menon Al Dohh.
In January 2026, Oman issued a Royal Decree promulgating the law establishing the International Financial Centre of Oman. The centre will be located in Madinat Al Irfan, Muscat.
“Oman’s objective in establishing the IFC is to position itself as a global financial hub, attract international and regional capital, increase the financial sector’s contribution to the economy, support economic diversification, and provide a predictable tax and legal framework aligned with international standards and best practices for eligible establishments,” Rajendran said.
He added that the IFC would provide businesses and investors with the clarity, certainty and confidence needed to establish a base in Oman.
“As Oman is expanding, we are also,” he said.
Rajendran was speaking at the launch of Kreston Menon Al Dohh, which brings together the established Omani practice of Ali Al Dohh & Co. and the regional expertise of Kreston Menon. The launch was held under the auspices of Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), at Mandarin Oriental Muscat on October 27, 2026.
The collaboration aims to create a comprehensive assurance and advisory platform for businesses operating in Oman, international investors entering the Sultanate and Omani enterprises seeking opportunities in overseas markets. It combines the multidisciplinary capabilities of Kreston Menon with the international connectivity of Kreston Global.
Established in 2009, Ali Al Dohh & Co. has developed extensive experience in Oman through its audit, accounting, tax and advisory services. Its clients include international companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, family businesses, industrial groups and regulated entities across manufacturing, shipping and logistics, retail and distribution, construction, education, healthcare and other key sectors.
Founded in Dubai in 1994, Kreston Menon has grown into a prominent regional audit and business advisory firm, with more than 500 professionals and a presence across the UAE, India and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council region.
Over three decades, the firm has developed expertise in audit and assurance, taxation, business and financial advisory, corporate services, technology consulting and cybersecurity.
Raju Menon, Chairman of Kreston Menon, said Oman offered considerable potential as an investment destination and as a base for businesses with regional and international ambitions.
“Oman has tremendous potential as an investment destination and as a base for businesses with regional and international ambitions. The coming together of Ali Al Dohh & Co. and Kreston Menon combines an established Omani practice with more than three decades of regional experience,” he said.
The launch comes as Oman expands opportunities across manufacturing, logistics, tourism, technology, renewable energy, infrastructure and other priority sectors.
Kreston Menon Al Dohh intends to support the Sultanate’s investment ambitions by assisting international businesses seeking to establish or expand their operations in Oman.
Its advisory teams will offer support in market research, business planning, feasibility studies and due diligence, helping investors evaluate opportunities before committing capital. The services will also cover business establishment and structuring, taxation, regulatory compliance, auditing, financing and technology.
The firm aims to provide professional guidance throughout the investment process, from the initial assessment of opportunities to establishing operations and supporting subsequent growth.
It will also work with Omani companies seeking to expand into regional and international markets, helping them assess opportunities and access professional expertise in their target jurisdictions.
Mohammed Al Dohh, Director of Kreston Menon Al Dohh, said the collaboration would broaden the range of services available to businesses in Oman.
“Over the years, we have worked closely with businesses across important sectors of the Omani economy and developed a strong understanding of their requirements and the market in which they operate. This association broadens the capabilities we can offer our clients,” he said.
“Businesses can now draw on specialist expertise across multiple disciplines and, when their ambitions extend beyond Oman, connect with professionals in markets around the world.”
The launch coincides with the Kreston Middle East Conclave, being held in Muscat this week, with delegates from the Middle East, the United States, Europe, Africa and India.
The fourth edition of the conclave is expected to bring together more than 100 delegates from 20 countries to discuss economic developments, cross-border opportunities and collaboration among Kreston member firms in serving businesses operating across multiple jurisdictions.
Sudhir Kumar, Chair of Kreston Middle East, said the event would help translate the network's international relationships into practical opportunities for clients.
“The Muscat conclave is about turning the relationships within our network into meaningful opportunities for our clients. By bringing colleagues from different markets together, we can identify where businesses are looking to invest, expand or build new partnerships and connect them with the right expertise,” he said.
