I think it’s safe to say that summer is officially over. It’s freezing in the morning and gloomily dark by the time we wake up. What a sad state of affairs for us Brits who love the sunshine! But luckily, I have good news: you don’t have to give in to the cold weather all season.
One quick scroll of the TUI website for some winter sun has shown me that a good dose of UV is very much on the cards. Better yet, in true TUI style, its current deals mean jetting off in the next few months is eminently affordable. I know I’m not the only one about to furiously fish out my passport.

The Canaries are looking particularly alluring. Just a four-hour flight from the UK and with various islands to choose from depending on your vibe, it’s millions of Britons’ worst-kept secret for winter sun. And with TUI’s latest deal, you can save up to £450 per couple when you visit this Spanish archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa.
Plus, on top of the existing savings, you can knock off an extra £100 on selected TUI holidays by entering the promo code WINTERDEAL at checkout. To grab the discount, your break just needs to cost over £800 and fall between November and December. If you’re looking to swap freezing temperatures for a tan, how tempting is that?
Here’s the Canary Island hotels on my radar for some 2026 winter sun…
1. Hotel H10 Timanfaya Palace – Lanzarote

This adults-only spot is packed with funky design touches everywhere you turn. You'll find three stylish pools, a piano bar offering live music for grown-up evenings and an à la carte mediterranean-arabian fusion restaurant. Best of all, you’re just two minutes from Flamingo Beach’s golden sands and 15 from bustling Playa Blanca.
2. Maspalomas & Tabaiba Princess – Gran Canaria

Two hotels merged into one, the Maspalomas & Tabaiba Princess delivers double the perks. You'll find an exotic main pool complete with palm trees and thatched canopies, plus a dedicated adults-only option. Dining-wise, choices span Italian to Asian, with stays over five nights including a free meal at both. Add in a kids' splash zone, lively bars and the famous Maspalomas Dunes just minutes away, and everyone's a happy bunny.
3. Princess Inspire - Tenerife
Formerly known as the Bahia Princess, this chic hideaway has a wonderfully relaxed vibe that’s tailored for couples and friends. Its location is spot on: surrounded by lively shops, bars and restaurants, with two beaches just five minutes’ walk away and upmarket Playa del Duque nearby. Cool off across four pools, indulge at two restaurants or grab cocktails and snacks from a lineup of four stylish bars. I’m sold!
