GTA 6 is the most anticipated video game of this decade, and it will likely stay relevant for another decade. With the game releasing on November 19, 2026, without any further delays, players want to know which platforms Grand Theft Auto 6 is releasing on. So, check out all the supported GTA 6 platforms, so you know where you can play the game at launch.
All GTA 6 Platforms Supported at Launch
GTA 6 is releasing on November 19, 2026. At launch, the confirmed GTA 6 supported platforms are:
- PlayStation 5
- PlayStation 5 Pro
- Xbox Series X
- Xbox Series S
These are the only four consoles that support GTA 6 at launch. An important thing to note is that Rockstar Games and Sony are repeatedly marketing that GTA 6 “Plays best on PS5.” Moreover, it has been confirmed that GTA 6 supports exclusive PS5 features, including haptic feedback, fast loading speeds, adaptive triggers, and more.
However, the developers have stated that the performance on both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X would be similar.
If we go by hardware specs and optimizations, the PS5 Pro is likely to deliver the best performance, while the Xbox Series S will likely lag behind due to its performance bottlenecks.
Players can now pre-order GTA 6 for both PS5 and Xbox consoles right now, so don’t forget to do it ahead of release. You can also get the Vintage Vice City pack for free if you preorder GTA 6 Ultimate Edition.

Is GTA 6 Available for PC?
No, GTA 6 won’t be available on PC at launch on November 19, 2026.
However, developers have confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will become available for PC at a later date.
The same has been the case with almost every other GTA game. Seeing how GTA 5 took a couple of years to come to PC, we initially expected a similar timeline for GTA 6 as well. But, reports suggest GTA 6 PC release date could be as soon as Q1 2027.
This means we could be playing as Jason and Lucia on our computers sometime between January to March 2027.
So, PC will be added to the list of supported GTA 6 platforms much sooner than expected.
Is GTA 6 Available on Nintendo Switch 2?
No, GTA 6 won’t be available for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 at launch.
Rockstar Games hasn’t revealed any plans for a GTA 6 Nintendo Switch 2 port at the time of writing. Moreover, GTA 5 never made it to the Switch platform, so its sequel becoming playable on Switch 2 is unlikely, at least for now. We will update this section once we get more official details.
However, Nintendo Switch 2 owners need not be disappointed, as The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake is releasing a week before GTA 6 exclusively on Switch 2.
Will GTA 6 Come Out for PS4 and Xbox Older-Gen Consoles?
Many players are wondering whether GTA 6 will release on older-generation consoles, including the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
All four consoles mentioned above run GTA 5 seamlessly, so the question is valid. Unfortunately, GTA 6 won’t be released on PS4 and Xbox One.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is confirmed to release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X/S.
That said, which platform will you play GTA 6 on? Tell us in the comments section below. I’ve pre-ordered the game on my PS5 already, and I’m eagerly waiting for the Grand Theft Auto 6 preload date to arrive soon.
