Attack Shark has unveiled the R5 Turbo, a lightweight gaming mouse designed for competitive players. It combines upgraded performance with a distinctive carbon-fiber design. A new sand-inspired Dune color option joins the black and white versions when the mouse launches on October 23rd.
Attack Shark has introduced the R5 Turbo, a new wireless gaming mouse that combines a lightweight carbon-fiber composite shell with an 8,000 Hz polling rate in both wired and wireless modes. Scheduled to become available on October 23, the mouse builds on the company's existing R5 Ultra with upgraded hardware and a new Dune color option.
Weighing approximately 43 grams (±3 g), the R5 Turbo uses an injection-molded carbon-fiber composite housing with a ventilated design. Attack Shark also applies a cool-touch coating intended to reduce stickiness during extended gaming sessions.
Inside sits a PixArt PAW3950MAX optical sensor supporting up to 60,000 DPI, 750 inches per second of tracking speed, and 60G acceleration. A three-level lift-off distance adjustment allows players to customize when the sensor stops tracking as the mouse is lifted.

A three-level lift-off distance adjustment allows players to customize when the sensor stops tracking as the mouse is lifted. The new Nordic nRF54LM20 controller enables polling rates of up to 8,000 Hz, meaning the mouse can report its position to a computer up to 8,000 times per second. Attack Shark claims wireless click latency as low as 0.168 milliseconds, although this figure comes from internal testing.
Connectivity options include USB, 2.4 GHz wireless, and Bluetooth. The mouse also features Omron optical switches rated for over 100 million clicks, TTC scroll-wheel encoders, and a shark-fin-shaped wireless receiver. Its 290 mAh battery reportedly provides up to 300 hours of use, but keep in mind: that figure applies to 1,000 Hz polling rather than the maximum 8K setting. The R5 Turbo arrives October 23rd in black, white, and Dune finishes. Pricing has not yet been announced.
While moviegoers have to wait until December for the third Dune film, gamers can get their hands on Attack Shark's own Dune on October 23. Sandworms not included.
