VETERAN TV and radio presenter Datuk Aznil Nawawi has no plans to retire, cheekily saying he has no "expiry date".
The 63-year-old personality, affectionately known as "Pak Nil", expressed surprise after making the shortlist for Best Male Radio Presenter at the upcoming Anugerah Seri Angkasa 2026 (ASA 2026) for his work on Media Prima's Kool FM.
Admitting he would feel no disappointment if he walks away empty-handed, Aznil happily welcomes younger talents to surpass him.
"What is the point of having so many proteges becoming hosts and presenters if they do not want to surpass my record?"
Reflecting on his four-decade career, the seasoned broadcaster says passion drives him forward.
"I once said that I am not 'milk' because I do not have an expiry date. As long as I can teach new hosts and my services are still needed, I will continue doing this work."
Aznil adds that doing what he loves keeps his mind active and healthy.
He will be co-hosting the ASA 2026 awards night on Saturday alongside former protege Sherry Alhadad, marking his grand return to the main stage after 21 years.
