A viral claim is making the rounds on social media about the Los Angeles Lakers waiving Bronny James.
The Los Angeles Lakers are seemingly at a crossroads with Bronny James’s future ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season.
Since LeBron James’ departure in free agency, many have been doubtful about Bronny’s time in LA. The doubt has only gotten stronger with head coach JJ Redick not being impressed with James Jr.’s performance during the preseason.
Amid so much uncertainty around Bronny’s future with the Lakers, one X user has claimed that the organisation has already waived the 22-year-old.
LA Lakers waiving Bronny James is false
A lifelong Lakers fan with the X handle ‘@charakez’ has announced on social media that the Lakers have parted ways with Bronny.
However, the handle provided no context to the news aside from claiming ‘sources told’ him it.
The X post has already gained over 500K views on the platform and more than 150 comments. However, the news seems to be false, as no credible NBA insider has reported the same.
Moreover, fans below the X post were quick to call out the user for making up the news to gain engagement on his handle.
As things stand right now, Bronny remains a member of the Purple and Gold as the team prepares for its season opener against the Golden State Warriors following a 2-3 run in the preseason.
