Naver Works, the artificial intelligence-powered workplace collaboration platform operated by Naver Cloud, has ranked first among major South Korean collaboration tools in mobile usage metrics including user numbers and total usage time for nine consecutive months.
Naver Works held the top spot from January through September this year in monthly users, active devices and total usage time among eight major collaboration tools in South Korea, according to mobile data analytics platform Mobile Index on the 22nd.
In the third quarter, Naver Works averaged about 302,000 monthly users, roughly double the 153,000 recorded by the second-ranked service. Average monthly usage time reached about 499,000 hours, 2.7 times the 186,000 hours logged by the runner-up. Average monthly active devices totaled about 566,000, ahead of the second-place 408,000, while new installations over the same period came to about 61,000, the highest among the services surveyed.
The platform's competitive strengths include an integrated work environment with intuitive usability, AI capabilities and security, the company said. It also supports collaboration features designed for the varied working conditions of public institutions. At agencies such as the Ministry of Justice, the Korea Post and the Korea Coast Guard, where shift work and field assignments are common or worksites are scattered nationwide, the platform links offices with field operations to maintain continuity of work. Naver Cloud said it provides collaboration environments tailored to each agency, covering shift handovers, field work schedules and work record management.
The company is also expanding its footprint in the public sector. In March, Naver Works was selected as the official collaboration platform for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety under a pilot program for On AI, an intelligent work management platform promoted by the interior ministry. Adoption has since widened to the Korea Coast Guard, the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Rural Development Administration and the Public Procurement Service, bringing the total to 18 central government agencies that have confirmed deployment.
"These findings show that Naver Works has secured a broad user base among collaboration tools in Korea and is also being actively used in actual workplaces," an official at Naver Cloud said. "Building on the service competitiveness proven in the private sector and the security and ease of use verified at public institutions, we aim to establish ourselves as the collaboration platform chosen by more public agencies."
