The pre-Christmas weekend on the south coast starts at £71 a night and visitors say they love ‘every minute’

Last year’s Christmas Celebrity Weekender got rave reviews with visitors saying they “loved every minute of it”. This year’s event is just weeks away and fans are gearing up to return for more nostalgic fun.

It takes place at Parkdean Resorts’ Sandford holiday park, in Dorset, and is a step back in time for a weekend of 80s and 90s fun, featuring huge names such as East 17 and Kerry Katona.

The three-night Christmas Party starts on Friday, November 27, and as well as East 17 and Kerry Katona, it also features acts such as Pat Sharp, The Cheeky Girls, Black Lace and DJ Marvin Humes.

One woman who travelled down to last year’s event said: “I recently stayed at Sandford holiday park with my sister and friends for the weekend as we attended the celebrity weekend.

“The caravan that we stayed in was nice and cosy. Also it was very clean and well presented. The three nights we were there it was amazing, the entertainment was fantastic. The staff were really friendly. We would definitely come again.”

Another visitor said: “I went for the 80s celebrity weekender and as someone who usually listens to metal, I obviously found it to be a ‘break from the norm’ and loved every minute of it.”

Their one criticism was that the curtains in their caravan were “coming off the runners” but that “didn’t affect their fun” as they’re “not the shy type”.

Visitors have the choice of a caravan or a lodge, priced from £213 or £439 respectively. You can find out more here.

Parkdean Resorts says: “Enjoy fantastic food and drink, top-class facilities, and accommodation to suit every budget. Hop in the time machine for a night of nostalgia everyone will enjoy! Hurry, we only have limited availability for each weekend. “

Alternatively, for those who prefer music from the 90s and noughties onwards, Away Resorts is planning its annual Y2K event at Tattershall Lakes, in Lincolnshire.
