Railway enthusiasts gathered at Elsecar Heritage Centre in Barnsley for the 2026 Yorkshire Garden Railways Show, featuring miniature locomotives, detailed layouts and live steam demonstrations.
The popular exhibition returned to the venue where it first began, bringing together garden railway enthusiasts, exhibitors and traders from Yorkshire and further afield on Saturday (Oct 10).
Visitors were treated to an impressive selection of railway layouts, showcasing everything from miniature steam locomotives to intricate railway buildings, tracks and rolling stock.
Among the highlights was the first public appearance of Fare to Middlin’, a new layout created by members of the Yorkshire Group.
The exhibition also featured suppliers offering steam and battery-powered locomotives, railway accessories and specialist equipment, alongside demonstrations and expert advice.
Yorkshire Post photographer Simon Hulme captured some of the best moments from the event, including enthusiasts operating miniature trains and admiring the detailed displays.
