PUTRAJAYA: No Malaysian plantation companies with oil palm concessions in Indonesia were found to be involved in forest fires linked to the haze.
Government spokesman Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said cross-checks with Malaysian companies showed that most of the fires observed had occurred outside concessions owned by Malaysian companies.
"There was one plantation owned by a Malaysian company, Genting Plantations, where a fire had spread from outside the plantation rather than originating within it.
"The fire has since been put out," he said at his weekly post-Cabinet press conference here today.
