Alexandros Paporakis was arrested following reports from colleagues at the Taco Bell restaurant chain, who told authorities they had received disturbing emails containing a document outlining an alleged mass-shooting plan and photographs of military equipment.
According to court documents, Paporakis had openly expressed white supremacist views at work and said he was looking forward to killing Indians.
Manifesto outlined plans for mass killings
The local prosecutor’s office said Paporakis sent a colleague an eight-page document titled “Why I Fought: AKA (The Aurora Shooter’s Manifesto).”
According to authorities, the document described Indians, Jews and African Americans as “subhuman” and outlined a plan to kill as many people as possible from those groups. Paporakis openly expressed neo-Nazi and white supremacist views to his coworkers.
His colleagues’ complaints brought the case to the attention of authorities. They also reported receiving photographs of military equipment alongside the document.
Weapons and Nazi symbols found at home
During a search of Paporakis’ home, authorities found an AR-style rifle without a serial number, ammunition magazines and bullets.
As reported in CNN, investigators also discovered a gas canister bearing an offensive label targeting people of South Asian origin, as well as various items featuring Nazi symbols. The items are being examined as part of the investigation.
Paporakis was arrested Sunday afternoon. According to his colleagues, he had allegedly told them that the day would be “a special day.”
Court addresses medical treatment during detention
According to the New York Post, Paporakis is undergoing gender transition. The report said the judge’s detention order specified that he would continue receiving his hormone injections while in custody.
The order also reportedly provides for necessary medical care, including hormone treatment and medication for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression and anxiety.
