Former NFL center Jason Kelce is hyped.
Some might think it would be an angry hype given the way his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, handled the Jalen Hurts blood clot situation.
But nooooooooooooo.
Kelce is hyped for the…wait for it…Cleveland Browns? During the “Monday Night Countdown” pregame show, Kelce morphed into the ultimate homer when talking about the Browns and their early season success that has culminated in a 4-2 record.
Kelce has been recently criticized for using “we” in the broadcast booth while talking about his former team, but growing up in Cleveland Heights and playing for the Heights High Tigers, it’s apparent he’s aware of the pain and suffering of Browns fans and the mantra “It’s Cleveland against the world.”
The word “we” be damned. He just let it all out and there aren’t enough exclamation marks to portray his unbridled excitement.
“The Cleveland Browns are the top of the AFC North. That’s right,” he excitedly said while moving in Muppet-like fashion. "We would have never thought it. I’m from Cleveland and we would have never thought it. We’ve been waiting for this moment fellas, it’s finally here.”
Kelce joined the “Monday Night Football” pregame show upon retiring from the NFL in 2024 as an analyst and lest anyone think there was no analysis in his hyped-up rant, there was plenty.
“Despite all the controversies with the quarterback position, people questioning Todd Monken if he’s the right hire, the Browns are Browns'ing in the right way now,” he said. “We’re leading it, baby. We’re 4-2. We just beat the Ravens. That never happens. We beat the Bucs, the Panthers. We’re taking it by storm Cleveland. No one thought this was gonna happen, but here we are.”
For now, yes, here Browns fans are and the potential for Kelce to get my hyped comes Sunday, Oct. 25 when the team travels to Nashville to take on the 1-5 Tennessee Titans.
