Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed got a rare, up-close look at President William Ruto's agricultural empire on Tuesday, October 20, when the two leaders made their way to Koilel Farm in Uasin Gishu county shortly after attending the national Mashujaa Day celebrations in Eldoret.

Abiy, who served as chief guest at this year's Mashujaa Day event, was photographed touring the farm alongside Ruto, who donned a colourful patterned short-sleeve shirt with a purple collar.
The Ethiopian premier wore a blue mandarin-collar outfit, a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses.
Inside Ruto's Koilel Farm
The images offer a detailed look at the farm's impressive livestock facilities.
Inside a large, open-sided steel-framed barn, Ruto and Abiy are seen standing among rows of Holstein-type dairy cows secured in blue headlock stalls, with hay and feed spread across the floor.
Coloured buckets and multiple cattle pens line the long central aisle of the shed, while a close-up shot captures a young black-and-white calf fitted with yellow ear tags in a separate pen.
Outside one of the farm's blue corrugated-iron buildings, the two leaders are seen gesturing and conversing.

About Koilel Farm
Koilel Farm sits in Moiben constituency, on the outskirts of Eldoret, roughly 14 kilometres from the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway, and covers approximately 98 acres.
The farm combines mechanised crop production, primarily maize and vegetables, with a commercial dairy and beef cattle operation.
Crops grown on the property help feed the livestock and support chicken-feed production.
The dairy side of the business is run using modern techniques including Total Mixed Ration feeding, mechanised milking, and the same blue headlock stall systems visible in the photographs from Abiy's visit.
The herd consists largely of high-yielding Friesian and Holstein-type dairy cattle, alongside beef animals including Angus breeds.

The setup is deliberately large-scale and technology-driven, setting it apart from traditional smallholder farming common in the region.
Ruto has previously opened the farm to cameras and public tours, positioning Koilel as a showcase for what modern commercial agriculture in Kenya can look like. Tuesday's visit gave Abiy Ahmed a firsthand glimpse of that vision.

Inside Ruto's multimillion Sugoi chicken farm
In other news, Ruto operates a large agricultural enterprise in Sugoi, featuring poultry farming, beekeeping, maize cultivation and fruit production.
His chicken business includes thousands of birds and an incubator for hatching chicks.
Ruto previously claimed his poultry venture generated substantial daily income through egg sales.
