Former midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi did not take well to Juventus’s 3-0 defeat at home against Lazio on Sunday evening, suggesting that the Bianconeri look no better a year on from Luciano Spalletti’s appointment as head coach: ‘On its current trend, this team is really negative’.
Tacchnardi critical of Juventus and Spalletti: ‘I don’t see a clear identity’
Juventus were humbled by Gennaro Gattuso and Lazio on their own turf on Sunday evening as goals from Oliver Provstgaard, Gustav Isaksen and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru handed a 3-0 victory to the visiting Biancocelesti.
Sunday’s result leaves Juventus eight points off the league leaders after just seven matches and they are now one point worse off than they were after seven matches of the 2025-26 season under Igor Tudor. This has led to calls for Spalletti’s head and pleas for Antonio Conte to return as head coach.
It’s safe to say that Tacchinardi did not look too kindly upon the Juve performance on Sunday night, slamming the players while on punditry duty with Mediasset, claiming that there is ‘no identity’ and that there has been no improvement in the side in the year that Spalletti has been in charge.
“They were lost, an embarrassing Juve tonight,” Tacchinardi began (via Corriere dello Sport).

“Despite the fact they played on Thursday, I don’t think it’s a team that’s been overloaded physically or mentally.
“But let’s get into it. A year after Spalletti’s appointment, I don’t see a clear identity, I don’t see an improved team, so I don’t know whether or not the club will be making any evaluations. On its current trend, this team is really negative. It was the ugliest Juve performance under Spalletti’s management.”
