Manchester City and Aston Villa have revealed their starting lineups ahead of today’s Premier League fixture at Villa Park. Enzo Maresca’s side are looking for their eighth consecutive win in their Premier League campaign. They’ll have to beat an Aston Villa side that typically gives City trouble at Villa Park. While City sit on top of the Premier League table entering today’s match, Unai Emery’s side are 12th. However, Villa have won six of their past seven matches in all competitions and are beginning to build their way into the season. Manchester City will have to be at their best to beat Villa today to make it eight wins from eight games.
Erling Haaland is available to start today for Enzo Maresca’s side. Haaland sustained a knock on his foot during the closing stages of Manchester City’s 3-2 win over Ipswich Town last Saturday. Manchester City’s top-scorer was an unused substitute in City’s win over AEK Athens but is fit to play today.
Antoine Semenyo will miss today’s game due to a knee injury. The powerful winger isn’t expected to return to the pitch until December. Nico O’Reilly, Mateo Kovacic and Matheus Nunes are all also in doubt for today’s meeting with Aston Villa. The trio all picked up injuries against Ipswich Town and missed Manchester City’s win over AEK Athens.
Here are the starting lineups for both teams for today’s game at Villa Park.
