Speaking after Bayern Munich’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night, Harry Kane discussed what it would mean to win the Ballon d’Or.
“It’d be a massive honour, a massive achievement,” Kane told TNT Sports. “Monday evening could be special for me personally. I’m looking forward to it.”
Kane assisted Alphonso Davies to level the tie, before putting Germany’s record champions ahead from the penalty spot in the 61st minute, before Arsenal’s Declan Rice secured the Gunners a share of the spoils with an 82nd-minute equaliser.
Harry Kane: ‘That pass was one of my best ones’
For Bayern’s equaliser, Kane paid a perfectly-weighted pass into the path of Davies, who struck the ball first time past David Raya and into the bottom corner.
“I said to Phonzy before the game: whenever I get the ball, just make those runs and I’ll try to find you,” he explained. “The pass was one of my best ones.
“I knew Phonzy would be able to get there with his speed. Whatever I can do to help the team, I’ll do. At the moment it seems to be with assists more than goals.”
