Saudi police have arrested four Bangladeshi and Indian nationals in Riyadh on allegations of begging, according to Saudi media reports.
Saudi newspaper Al-Sabq reported the arrests today (20 October).
Legal proceedings are being initiated against the detainees under applicable regulations, the report said.
Saudi Arabia's Public Security Forces urged people to donate only through official, authorised platforms to ensure assistance reaches those in need and prevent donations from inadvertently supporting begging.
The arrests are part of an ongoing Interior Ministry campaign against begging in public places, according to the report.
Authorities said the drive aims to curb the practice and ensure donations reach eligible recipients.
Separately, Saudi authorities arrested a foreign national in the Asir region on allegations of transporting 70kg of drugs concealed in a vehicle, according to Saudi newspaper Sadi.
