The production of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo TV series is beginning in the Lithuanian capital, the Vilnius Film Office said in a press release on Tuesday.
“A new eight-part thriller is being made based on the first instalment of the acclaimed Millennium book series, with filming also set to take place in Vilnius,” the office said.
British company Left Bank Pictures, known for popular series including The Crown and Dept. Q, is producing the eight-part series.
The Vilnius Film Office, established in 2011, aims to promote the film industry in the Lithuanian capital.
Vilnius is also planning to build a dedicated film studio to attract large productions.
Previously, TV series and films like Stranger Things were also filmed in the Lithuanian capital.
