San Ignacio Resort Hotel, which marks its 50th anniversary this year, has been named Belize’s Leading Hotel 2026 at the World Travel Awards. It is the hotel’s fifth consecutive win in the category, following titles every year from 2022 through 2025.
This year’s Caribbean and The Americas winners were celebrated at a gala at the Princess Grand Jamaica, the flagship event of World Travel Week Jamaica.
For half a century, San Ignacio Resort Hotel has welcomed guests from around the world to Cayo. Among its most famous guests was Queen Elizabeth II, a proud part of the hotel’s long history.
