The Yellow Network blockchain project, in which Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen invested $10 million, has teased a technology for instant settlements between autonomous AI programs.
According to a teaser posted on X, the XRP token will become the basic settlement mechanism for the new "ultimate" AI stack, designed to combine Yellow's high-speed channels with the capabilities of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) network.
Moving value across borders in seconds is old news. XRPL already solved that. The real challenge now is trust: how do two autonomous AI agents with zero shared history transact safely? They need guaranteed outcomes. Yellow provides the exact trustless settlement layer to make it happen.

It is expected that the new software will allow AI agents to trade with each other without fees within the system, and to instantly record the final settlement on the XRP blockchain.
Why do robots need money at all? (And why regular banks don't suit them)
Regular bank transfers are too slow for artificial intelligence. When two robots on the network want to make a deal — for example, one AI buys data or computing power from another — they need to complete the payment within fractions of a second. At the same time, they "don't know" each other and cannot take each other's word for it.
Yellow solves this problem. The project acts as a digital guarantor: it verifies and protects the deal on the fly, and then sends it to the XRP Ledger for closing. In the company's teaser, this process was shown simply — two capsules are connected by a glowing bridge of trust.

AI agents perform millions of micro-operations, so predictability is important to them. The XRPL blockchain may be ideal for this: a transfer there takes only 3–5 seconds, and the fee is a fraction of a cent. Chris Larsen's involvement links this project directly to the future of the Ripple ecosystem.
This infrastructure has already been deployed on the basis of the XRPL AI Hub, where 174 AI services are registered. Autonomous agents have carried out more than 14.5 million microtransactions and closed almost 6,000 deals, paying each other for inference routing, token analysis, and contextual data via the x402 protocol.

While people argue about cryptocurrencies, major capital is building the economy of the future — where robots will buy and sell services to each other without human involvement, using XRP liquidity.
