The shooting was reported at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, and a large police operation was launched. Later that evening, police announced that the victim, a man in his 20s, had died.
The investigation continued overnight, and the search for one or more perpetrators continues on Saturday.
The investigation continues during the day. We have conducted numerous interviews, and there are cameras that captured parts of the incident that we are analyzing, says police spokesperson Ola Österling.
He also says that investigators are looking into the motive for the shooting and whether it could be connected to last weekend’s fatal shooting at a sports hall in Älvsjö, in southern Stockholm.
We have officers working to put this in as fair a context as possible, and we are not ruling anything out, says Ola Österling.
