Selma Blair’s former “Dancing With the Stars” partner, Sasha Farber, said he’s been in touch with the actress following her violent plane incident earlier this month.
“I have been talking to Selma. She’s doing great and I’m thinking of her,” he told People in a new interview published Friday.
The Australian dancer added that Blair, 54, is like “family” to him.
“You make such a connection because this show, it’s just a family orientated show. The people that you get to meet, they become your family for the rest of your life,” Farber told the outlet.
The two competed on the hit show during Season 31. Unfortunately, Blair withdrew from the competition due to health concerns stemming from her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
His comments come just weeks after the actress was arrested for allegedly biting a flight attendant and punching another on a Delta Airlines Flight on its way to John F. Kennedy International Airport from Los Angeles International Airport on Oct. 11.
The “Cruel Intentions” actress reportedly had to be restrained during the flight.
Per the 911 dispatch audio, the pilot labeled Blair an “abusive” passenger and requested that law enforcement and medical personnel meet them at the gate upon landing. The pilot said the two flight attendants who were involved in the incident needed “medical attention.”
Blair was taken to the hospital upon landing as well, but while being transported, she allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head multiple times. While at the hospital, she was accused of assaulting a nurse, who pressed charges.
Following her arrest, she entered a not guilty plea after she was charged with two counts of second-degree assault. If she is convicted, she could face up to seven years behind bars.
Her attorney, Shawn Barnes, said that the incident was triggered by a missed dose of medication that had been prescribed to treat her multiple sclerosis. She has been in remission from the disease since 2021.
In a recent statement, Blair’s rep said that there was “much more to this story,” and that the “Legally Blonde” star “did not intend to harm anyone.”
Just days after the incident, she appeared at 90s Con on Oct. 16.
An eyewitness told Page Six that Blair was met with applause by fans.
She was also overheard telling a fan, “I’m doing good. I’m a little nervous, but I’m doing good.” She looked “very upbeat” and “very jovial” while at the weekend-long event.
