Rachel Kolisi is taking her Falling Forward roadshow beyond South Africa’s borders, with the entrepreneur set to bring the documentary experience to London in November.
Kolisi and the Falling Forward Foundation announced that the roadshow will take place in the British capital on November 19.
“We’re gonna be there on the 19th of November and cannot wait to be in the room with you all. It is literally gonna be the best night out,” Kolisi said in a video shared on Instagram.
The London edition will be hosted by Nkateko, popularly known as Takkies, a South African creative who is based in the UK.
Through her platform, Rockingnheels, Takkies uses dance to create spaces where women can feel strong, supported and celebrated.
“We can’t wait for the energy and heart she’ll bring to the evening, and to hear more about her own story, her journey, and what moving forward looks like for her,” the foundation said.
The event will bring together Kolisi, Takkies and the Falling Forward community for an evening of conversation, connection and reflection.
From Makhanda to London
The London stop marks an international chapter for a roadshow that began in the Eastern Cape in March.
The Falling Forward documentary roadshow officially launched on March 4 at the Guy Butler Theatre at the Monument in Makhanda. The event featured a screening of Kolisi’s personal documentary, followed by a fireside conversation co-hosted by author and entrepreneur Samke Mhlongo.
The first leg of the tour travelled to five South African cities: Makhanda, Gqeberha, Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
Kolisi later revealed that more than 4,000 people attended the first tour, with four of the five shows selling out.
The roadshow centres on themes of resilience, identity and rebuilding after life-changing experiences, encouraging audiences to reflect on what moving forward means in their own lives.
With the London event, Kolisi is extending that conversation to South Africans living abroad and a wider international audience.
