Savannah James was explaining why her worn-in UGG x Palace slides are her favorite travel shoes when she mentioned they’re easy to take off if she gets an extra pat-down at security. LeBron James immediately interrupted with a question: “Who patting you down?”
The exchange took place during a tour of their Los Angeles home for Vogue’s Objects of Affection series, released a few days ago. Savannah said the slides had traveled around the world three times and were comfortable enough to wear on trips. The key detail: they were easy to take off if security needed to pat her down.

“TSA,” Savannah replied when LeBron asked who was patting her down. She laughed, but LeBron kept the joke going: “Who’s that? I’ve never met him before.”
Savannah continued explaining how easy it was to take off the slides on a plane, where she likes to stretch out and sleep. When LeBron noticed how worn they were, he joked that they needed a new pair. He even asked UGG and Palace to send Savannah two pairs.
LeBron’s move to the Philadelphia 76ers has brought a major change to the family’s routine. He is now based in New York while playing in Philadelphia, but his wife has stayed in Los Angeles with their daughter Zhuri to keep her school life stable.
That means more travel for the family as they adjust to this new chapter. LeBron has called the distance a challenge, saying Savannah has always been “my backbone.”
The Sixers’ next game is Saturday, Oct. 24, against the Milwaukee Bucks at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
