Projections suggest Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia will earn a very affordable deal, making a return likely.
Alex Vesia’s free agent market
After years of consistency and good health, Vesia is a free agent and a standout option for anyone looking to bolster their bullpen.
In a free-agent class, the southpaw is among the best, since contending and rebuilding teams can never have enough good pitchers.
Now, Spotrac, a reputable sports finance outlet, has issued its projections for Vesia’s contract.
They project a two-year deal worth $14.2 million, earning $7.1 million per season.
This would double his 2026 salary, when he earned $3.65 million, but a $7 million average annual value deal is on the lower end of what Vesia could fetch.
He will likely land in the A.J. Minter or Luke Weaver range, around $11 million per season.
If there is a big spending spree ahead of the lockout, Vesia could even earn a bit more, around $15 million per season on a short-term deal.

Can the Dodgers keep Vesia?
Vesia made it clear he loved his time with the Dodgers after the 2026 season, which bodes well if the Dodgers make a competitive offer.
“By far the hardest year of my career. It’s hard to put into words what this season was like. Personal battles with confidence, expectations and highs and lows mentally,” Vesia posted on Instagram.
“I can’t thank my teammates enough for picking me up on down days and dealing with my crazy ass on my high ones.
“I don’t know what the future holds, but I do want to say thank you to Dodger Nation for showing me so much love over the past 6 years, especially this year. I’m just a man on a mission!”
The Dodgers have an opening at left-handed relief, since Tanner Scott will take the higher-leverage work, but middle relief is less clear.
Dave Roberts trusts Vesia immensely, and the Dodgers deploy him in the middle of innings or for a full inning.
