The assumption of this position by an Omani leading figure will further contribute to enhancing Oman's presence in international forums, developing frameworks for regional cooperation, exchanging expertise, and building capacities in the field of aviation accident investigation among countries of the region, supporting Oman's advanced standing in the field of civil aviation safety.
This achievement comes as an extension of Oman's efforts to enhance its presence within professional organizations concerned with aviation safety, after the approval of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on November 17, 2020, for Oman to join the International Society of Air Safety Investigators, in support of international cooperation and development of national expertise in this sector.
The MENA Society of Air Safety Investigators is a regional branch of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators, which was founded in the United States of America in 1964, and is concerned with enhancing cooperation among specialists in investigating aviation accidents and incidents, and exchanging information and expertise that contributes to developing air safety practices.
The MENA Society of Air Safety Investigators was founded in 2013, and aims to enhance professional communication among investigators in the region, exchange technical knowledge and expertise, organize specialized programs and seminars, and keep pace with developments in the field of investigating and preventing aviation accidents.
