Pat McAfee‘s “Kicking is Easy” contest on ESPN’s “College GameDay” was taken to another level in Provo, Utah in Week 7. With the help of some special guests, a BYU student named Carter, dressed as Spiderman, was able to make a kick worth $3 million. That’s twice what the previous record for the kick was worth.
The contest which is still using a graphic calling it a $100,000 kick now starts at a million dollars on a weekly basis. This week McAfee roped Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith into contributing another million. On top of that, Smith’s business partner Ryan Sweeney, who went to Notre Dame, reluctantly pledge a million dollars to charity.
Former BYU football stars Austin Collie and Taysom Hill were also there, but McAfee did not ask them to pull out their wallets.
It’s unclear how legally binding these negotiations really are, but a BYU student named Carter, dressed as Spiderman, kicked a knuckleball through the uprights on his second attempt.
