CJ Olivenetworks said on Oct. 15 that it has launched CJ ONE Global, a membership service for foreign visitors to South Korea.
The company introduced the service to secure foreign tourists as a new customer segment. Any foreign visitor can sign up for the membership with only email verification, without a domestic mobile phone number or identification document. Once registration is complete, a mobile barcode is issued immediately through the CJ ONE app, allowing members to earn and spend points at partner stores nationwide.
Key partners include tourist attractions such as N Seoul Tower, shopping channels such as Shinsegae Duty Free, restaurant brands such as Tous les Jours and Mega MGC Coffee, convenience stores such as CU and emart24, and Gourmet Bridge at Incheon International Airport. The lineup consists of brands that foreign tourists are likely to encounter along their travel routes. Some partner channels also issue exclusive coupons available only to global members.
CJ ONE Global can be used by switching to global mode in the latest version of the CJ ONE app, version 5.0 or higher. The service currently supports English and Japanese, and the company plans to expand it to additional languages.
