SHAH ALAM: Police are hunting five men believed to be involved in the murder of a local man whose body was found buried in Semenyih, Kajang.
Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said 15 suspects, including two foreigners, had been arrested, with several already charged in court.
He said the investigation began after the victim's wife lodged a police report when she could not contact her husband for several hours.
The arrests involve three separate cases: kidnapping, murder and firearms-related offences.
The five men still at large are known as Dedek, Jimmy Boy, Amen, Yeye and Apak, he said at a press conference at the Selangor police contingent headquarters.
Shazeli said the suspects, aged between 35 and 48, were believed to be in Selangor.
Investigations also found that the suspects were involved in gangsterism, with almost all having committed various criminal and drug-related offences, he said.
The victim was believed to have been abducted by several suspects in a car from the Ampang Waterfront area between 4am and 4.30am on Sept 24.
Shazeli said police were taken to the location where the victim was murdered and buried in Semenyih on Sept 27.
The victim was believed to have been detained and tortured before being killed and buried. A post-mortem found that he died from multiple incised wounds to the neck.
Investigations found that the 42-year-old self-employed man was killed following a disagreement between him and the suspects, he said.
The discovery of the body led to several arrests. Police also seized two shotguns, a Proton Wira and a hoe believed to have been used to bury the victim.
Shazeli said several of the 15 suspects arrested were charged at the Ampang and Bangi courts.
Media reports said the victim, identified as Mulia and believed to be in his 30s, was taken away in a Honda.
