KUALA LUMPUR: Indian singer-composer Suresh Peters, known for his contributions to Tamil film music in the 1990s, will perform in Johor Bahru for the first time at the ‘Legends Vibe – Live in JB’ concert on Dec 5.
MNESS Productions director Dr Muniswaran Sivanathan, one of the concert’s organisers, said the singer’s participation would add a nostalgic touch to the show, which brings together artistes whose music has resonated with different generations of Tamil music fans.
He said Suresh Peters had recently performed in Kuala Lumpur after a long absence, giving his Malaysian fans an opportunity to see him on stage again, while the Johor Bahru concert would mark his first performance in the city.
“For many Malaysian fans, his songs are associated with their younger days and memorable films,” he told Bernama.
The concert, to be held at Paradigm Mall Convention Centre, will also feature Indian singers Anuradha Sriram, Krrish, Antony Dasan and Priyanka.
Muniswaran said the audience could look forward to popular Tamil songs associated with the participating artistes, including familiar melodies and energetic numbers, although the final song list would depend on their repertoire and production arrangements.
He said the multi-artiste format also offered opportunities for musical collaborations, although any special performances or surprises would depend on the final arrangements.
He said the organisers were targeting an attendance of 2,500, including fans from other parts of Malaysia and Singapore.
Tickets are priced between RM99 and RM499, with four pricing categories available under a Deepavali promotional offer.
Muniswaran said the promotional prices might increase after the offer period and that ticket details were expected to be available on the MyTicket.Asia website within two weeks.
The concert is jointly organised by BR Films and MNESS Productions.
