MOSCOW, October 23. /TASS/. Russian specialists have created the Titan advanced robotic demining system, the system’s developer told TASS.
"To address the challenge of clearing mine and explosive obstacles using robotic systems amid the enemy’s widespread use of anti-personnel mines and improvised explosive devices in the special military operation zone, the latest robotic demining system, Titan, has been developed. The use of electric motors, a low-profile design, and all-round fragmentation protection against all known performed fragments of anti-personnel engineering munitions ensure stealth during missions and the necessary survivability. The system has increased blast resistance. According to our information, there are no counterparts with comparable quality of equipment and protection being used on either side of the line of contact," a company representative stated.
The system is designed to clear a continuous route through anti-personnel minefields by sweeping away the main types of anti-personnel mines. "The Titan enables the sweeping of mines equipped with pressure-action, pull-action, and break-wire target-sensors," he noted.
He specified that the system has successfully completed testing and is expected to be deployed in the special military operation zone. "Work is currently underway to improve the level of protection, add new controls, and refine the design of the sweeping equipment," he added.
The system’s total weight is 2.3 metric tons, and its payload capacity is one ton. "The Titan’s maximum speed with the sweeping equipment is seven km/h, and without it - 14 km/h. The system is capable of operating autonomously for at least 3.5 hours. The sweep width is two meters. If necessary, the Titan can be equipped with electronic warfare capabilities. The system’s control range depends on the type of communication used but is at least 500 meters," the developer added.
