Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy participated in the grand Mysuru Dasara celebrations, along with other Karnataka ministers, on Wednesday.
Accompanied by his wife Geetha, the Chief Minister witnessed the Jambo Savaari (procession), the most significant event of the festivities, during which the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari, seated in a magnificent golden howdah atop a beautifully decorated elephant, is taken out.
The procession featured folk artistes, music ensembles, dance troupes and a variety of cultural performances showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of Karnataka.
The Karnataka Nada Habba (State Festival) is a symbol of Indian culture, traditions, devotion, arts and historical heritage.
The Chief Minister was invited by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. Distinguished guests from India and abroad, including Kerala Congress leader V.D. Satheesan, also attended the event.
Before participating in the Dasara celebrations held at Mysore Palace, the Chief Minister visited the Chamundeshwari Temple, and offered special prayers.
