Beady AI has launched a screening and monitoring service designed to help cryptocurrency exchanges, decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, wallet providers and other blockchain businesses identify financial, legal and reputational risks associated with customers, corporate partners and project founders.
The platform, developed by We Good Solutions Limited, combines checks against sanctions lists, politically exposed person (PEP) databases, criminal records, corporate ownership information and adverse media. It also provides ongoing monitoring to alert compliance teams when relevant information changes after an initial screening.
Beady AI enables crypto businesses to screen individuals, companies and blockchain projects against more than 100,000 public sources and monitor them daily, addressing compliance gaps associated with one-time background checks.
Automated Screening Targets Crypto Compliance Risks
Cryptocurrency businesses face growing demands to implement know-your-customer (KYC), know-your-business (KYB), and anti-money laundering controls. However, their international customer bases and rapid onboarding processes can make manual screening difficult to maintain at scale.
A person or company that passes an initial background check may subsequently appear on a sanctions list, become involved in legal proceedings, or attract adverse media coverage. Without continuous monitoring, compliance teams may not discover these developments until a later review.
Beady AI aims to address this challenge through a centralized screening process. Compliance officers can enter the name of an individual, company, or project to search multiple categories of risk information without submitting supporting documents for the initial check.
Its sanctions coverage includes lists maintained by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control, the European Union, the United Nations and the United Kingdom’s Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation under HM Treasury. The company says the relevant sanctions data is updated daily.
After completing an initial assessment, businesses can place a subject under daily monitoring. The system checks available information again and sends alerts, generally within hours of identifying a relevant change. Teams can receive daily summaries through Telegram and access detailed findings through the Beady portal.
Ownership Mapping Examines Project Founders
The service is designed to investigate not only direct counterparties but also the people and legal entities behind cryptocurrency projects. Its ownership-mapping capabilities trace beneficial owners through holding companies and intermediaries, potentially helping compliance teams identify individuals exercising control through complex corporate structures.
The platform also monitors public social media and community channels for potential warning signs. Findings from different sources can be consolidated into a report for internal compliance reviews, auditors, and banking partners.
Beady says its database covers more than 100,000 public sources and ownership information relating to over 200 million companies and corporate officers.
The platform automatically filters duplicate entries and potential false matches, which the company says can reduce the volume of irrelevant results analysts must review by as much as 95%.
Each finding includes a link to its original source, allowing analysts to verify information and maintain documentation for compliance reviews and regulatory examinations.
The service is intended for a broad range of businesses, including cryptocurrency exchanges, DeFi protocols, token issuers, custodians, digital asset funds, payment providers, and Web3 startups. Beady is a product of We Good Solutions Limited, which has an office in Hong Kong and experience developing software for banks, fintech companies and other regulated industries.
Identity Screening Complements Blockchain Analytics
Beady AI focuses on identity, corporate ownership, and reputation rather than analyzing wallet addresses or tracking on-chain transactions. Consequently, the service is designed to complement existing blockchain analytics and Travel Rule compliance tools rather than replace them.
This distinction is relevant because blockchain analytics systems typically examine transaction patterns, wallet activity and connections between blockchain addresses. Identity-screening platforms instead investigate the individuals and organizations associated with a business relationship.
Combining the two approaches may give compliance teams a broader view of risk, although the effectiveness of any assessment depends on the quality, completeness and timeliness of the underlying data.
A Beady AI spokesperson said the company developed the service after compliance teams reported spending considerable time conducting manual searches while remaining concerned about risks emerging after customer onboarding. The company aims to shorten initial screening and provide alerts when a previously assessed party’s risk profile changes.
Deployment Designed for Rapid Setup
Beady says the service can be configured within 24 hours, potentially allowing crypto businesses to introduce automated screening without a lengthy implementation process.
By combining initial due diligence, beneficial ownership analysis and continuous monitoring, Beady AI aims to help blockchain businesses identify emerging counterparty risks and strengthen their compliance workflows.
The company has made further information and demo requests available through its crypto and blockchain screening service. Adoption will depend on the platform’s ability to deliver reliable matches, maintain current information, and fit into each organization’s existing compliance procedures.
