Teton Private Limited has launched "MyECGAI Pro", an artificial intelligence-powered, 12-lead portable electrocardiogram (ECG) device designed to record the heart's electrical activity at home or other locations.
The device was unveiled at Sheraton Dhaka in Banani yesterday (11 October), according to the press release.
Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan, dean of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, attended as the chief guest.
Professor Dr Khandaker Abdul Awal Rizvi, president of the National Heart Foundation, was the special guest.
Dr Mizan Rahman, CEO of Teton, attended alongside investors, physicians, business partners, technology sector representatives, media professionals and invited guests.
Speaking at the programme, Mizan Rahman said technology became meaningful when it addressed real-life needs. He said Teton's initiative reflected its aim to make health technology more accessible.
The company said MyECGAI Pro could record an ECG in around 30 seconds and generate a digital PDF report that users could store and share with a physician.
The feature is intended to make sharing ECG information with healthcare professionals easier.
The launch included an audiovisual presentation on the device's operation and development, followed by a live demonstration.
Dr Athar Uddin, chairman of Azmat Group, spoke on behalf of the investors.
Teton said it was expanding its work in health technology alongside consumer technology. Through MyECGAI Pro, it aims to simplify ECG recording and the sharing of reports.
Reports generated by a portable ECG device should not replace professional medical evaluation. A physician should assess the findings and advise on any subsequent care.
People experiencing symptoms associated with heart conditions should seek appropriate medical attention without delay.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session and an exchange between journalists and the organisers.
