KUALA LUMPUR: Kuching City cannot afford another slip-up in the AFC Champions League Two (ACL2) as they look to get their Group H campaign back on track against Kitchee at Taha Ariffin Stadium on Thursday.
Aidil Sharin Sahak's men lost their opening match away to Phnom Penh Crown and are bottom of the group without a point, making their first home fixture crucial to their hopes of mounting a challenge.
Kuching head into the match on the back of a 4-1 aggregate victory over Kelantan City that secured their place in the FA Cup semi-finals, but Aidil warned that domestic form alone would not be enough in Asia.
The Singaporean coach said his players must show greater discipline and eliminate simple mistakes that could hand their opponents an advantage.
"We did make mistakes at certain points in the match, but as I have said, these are the things we want to correct and improve.
"We cannot repeat simple mistakes that allow opponents to score and bring down the team's morale. I have always set high demands and standards.
"We cannot be satisfied with where we are now because the most important thing is to keep improving in every match so that we can become a better team," he said.
Kitchee, meanwhile, have a point after drawing 1-1 with South Korean side Gangwon in their opening match.
Kuching will need to turn their home advantage into points if they are to recover from their opening defeat and keep their ACL2 campaign on course.
