Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) stock has received a bullish call from Wall Street as the equity continues to target the $1,000 mark, driven by its position in the artificial intelligence (AI) memory market.
The latest assessment from Wedbush analyst Matt Bryson focuses on Micron’s approach to memory manufacturing, which could help the company maintain a competitive edge as demand for advanced memory products grows.
Bryson reiterated an ‘Outperform’ rating and a $1,400 price target for Micron. The target implies approximately 59.5% upside from Micron’s October 23 closing price of $877.55. The stock gained 2.46% during the session.
Bryson’s assessment highlights Micron’s decision to pursue three-dimensional dynamic random-access memory (3D DRAM) rather than follow rivals developing 4F² memory architecture.
The alternative approach could help Micron avoid manufacturing complexity and potential limitations on further memory-density improvements associated with competing designs.
Growing memory requirements from AI infrastructure provide another potential catalyst for Micron shares. Successive generations of AI systems are expected to require more memory, while agentic AI applications could increase demand through longer context lengths.
Autonomous vehicles could also support long-term growth. Level 4 autonomous vehicles could require four times as much DRAM as current Level 2+ vehicles, according to figures discussed by the company.
These trends could support demand for Micron’s products as AI data centers and advanced computing systems expand. However, the outlook remains sensitive to changes in semiconductor demand, pricing, and technology investment.
Wall Street analysts bullish on MU stock
Meanwhile, Wall Street analysts maintain a bullish outlook on Micron, with the average one-year price target at $1,605.63, implying 82.97% upside from the October 23 closing price of $877.55. The forecast is based on estimates from 49 analysts, ranging from $361 to $3,000.
The broader ratings survey tracked by TradingView covers 57 analysts, with 45 issuing ‘Strong Buy’ ratings and eight recommending ‘Buy’. Three rate the stock ‘Hold ‘, while one recommends ‘Sell ‘. None assigns a ‘Strong Sell’ rating.
Despite the positive outlook, Micron remains exposed to the cyclical nature of the memory-chip industry. Changes in supply, pricing, or demand for AI hardware could affect revenue growth and profitability.
The company’s 3D DRAM strategy also carries execution risks, with its success depending on manufacturing progress and its ability to compete with rival memory producers.
