The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has nearly doubled the daily quota of VIP darshan passes at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple, increasing it from 1,800 to 3,500 from Saturday.
The Trust’s arrangements in-charge, Indradev Tiwari, confirmed the increase, saying the decision was taken in view of the number of devotees visiting Ayodhya. The process for issuing passes remains unchanged.
The higher quota is expected to help manage VIP visits, including those by film stars and political leaders.
The increase comes over two months after the Trust scrapped the separate special pass requirement for Ram Darbar darshan on the temple’s first floor.
Under that arrangement, devotees can visit Ram Lalla through the regular queue and then proceed to Ram Darbar without an additional pass. Earlier, access to Ram Darbar was regulated through a limited number of special passes.
The Trust said the change was intended to simplify access and allow more devotees to visit both shrines.
