Ogeta sat down for a television interview on KTN News. The interview, filmed in an outdoor patio setting and interspersed with CCTV-style corridor footage, carried a sombre, investigative tone as Ogeta addressed lingering questions about Raila's final weeks.
What the viral video actually showed
The anchor raised the clip that had been widely shared online, in which Raila is seen walking along a glass-walled corridor in a hospital gown, with Ogeta a few paces behind him.

Many viewers had assumed the footage was captured during Raila's time at an Ayurvedic centre in Kerala, India, where he spent his final days.
Ogeta was direct in his correction:
"First of all allow me just to put this one very straight. Whatever clip that was circulated or that went viral or whatever it is in him in a gown this and that and I was behind, that was not the clip of India. That was... That's the previous clip when we were in Dubai, when he did his first surgery. So I'll enjoy..." Ogeta said.
The bodyguard's statement places the footage firmly in an earlier chapter of Raila's medical journey, during the former PM's treatment in Dubai, UAE, before he subsequently travelled to India for further care.
Recalling the day Raila died
According to Ogeta's earlier accounts, Raila collapsed on the morning of 15 October 2025 while on a routine walk at the villa where they were staying in India.
He was roughly a metre away from the bodyguard at the time of the collapse and was swiftly rushed to Devamatha Hospital in Koothattukulam, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Raila passed away while in India, and President William Ruto subsequently announced his passing to the nation.
The confirmation that the hospital gown clip predates Raila's time in India clears up a misconception that had attached itself to the footage since the political icon's death.
What many had interpreted as a farewell glimpse was, in fact, a moment from months earlier during his recovery in the Gulf.
