The Boston Celtics just humiliated themselves in their Opening Night loss to the Detroit Pistons. Or at least that is the point of view of the hosts of the "How Bout Them Celtics!" podcast, Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance, who took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk over what they saw from the Celtics in their 121-113 loss to the Pistons in their first contest of the 2026-27 NBA regular season.
Losing a 22-point lead in a fourth-quarter collapse in a very familiar fashion has a lot to do with their take, as does how star forward Jayson Tatum, Boston's best bigs Mitchell Robinson and Neemias Queta, as well as the no-shows from the Celtics' young wings.
Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about what did not go well for Boston in their first game of the season.
