The Houston Texans are having it much better of late. After opening the 2026 NFL season with four consecutive losses, Stroud and company have stitched together two wins in a row.
Their first win came in Week 5’s 26-3 demolition of the Tennessee Titans on the road. The following week, Houston took down a bigger team, defeating Trevor Lawrence and the AFC South-leading Jacksonville Jaguars in London to the tune of a 34-31 score.
Houston is still just 2-4 after six weeks, but one wouldn’t know it based solely on the performance of Stroud this season.
The former Ohio State Buckeyes star has been a solid presence under center for the Texans, as he leads the team’s high-flying attack that is averaging 355.0 total yards per game and 270.2 passing yards per contest – 10th and fourth overall in the NFL, respectively.
Stroud, Texans Gaining Steam Amid Winning Streak
Stroud’s effectiveness in distributing the ball downfield has even earned him a place in the franchise’s record books.
Via X account Bradeaux:
CJ Stroud is the 1st Texans QB in franchise history (and the only QB in the NFL now) to have over 1,700 passing yards with one or less interceptions through 6 games.
His 285.3 passing yards per game is currently 2nd in the entire NFL.
1,714 Passing Yards
9 TD | 1 INT
65.3 Cmp%
So far this season, Stroud, who has yet to sign a contract extension has passed for 1,714 yards and will look to add more when the Texans host the New York Giants in a Week 7 game this coming Sunday.
