Planet Zoo 2 launched on October 13, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The game has more than 130 animal species, including flying and aquatic animals.
Players can build aquariums, create aviaries, and manage wildlife reserves while caring for animals and visitors.
Simulation games have a separate fanbase, as these titles offer players a virtual experience of real-world activities. A similar experience is brought to players by the Planet Zoo series games, a simulator that wants them to build and run a zoo. Now, building a zoo may sound easy at first. You place a few animals, add some paths, and let visitors walk around. The real challenge comes when you have to run it properly. Animals need the right homes, visitors want a good experience, and the money must keep coming in. This mix of tasks is what makes the Planet Zoo series fun.
Now, Planet Zoo 2 has arrived with new ways to build and manage a zoo. The game launched on October 13, 2026, and adds new animals, fresh building tools, and more ways to care for wildlife.
What made this game stand apart from the previous entries is that it didn’t just include more animals. Players can build aquariums, create bird habitats, and work on wildlife projects. These changes give them more freedom to shape their own zoo.
Planet Zoo 2 Price, Platforms, and Gameplay
Currently, Planet Zoo 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. In different countries, the game costs different. For example, US players can grab the standard edition of the game for USD 49.99, while the Deluxe Edition costs USD 64.99. Similarly, Indian players can buy the standard edition at Rs. 2,999 and the Deluxe Edition at Rs. 3,799. These are the prices listed on the PlayStation Store India. On Xbox, the prices are Rs. 4,759 and Rs. 6,179, respectively. Here, players should note that prices may change based on the store and region.
The sequel’s main goal is kind of similar to the first game. Players need to build a zoo, create homes for animals, hire staff for maintenance, and manage the entire operation to keep the business growing. A well-planned zoo can attract more visitors and bring in more money. More income will help players to add more homes for animals, shops for visitors, and other features.
However, the sequel gives players more animals and new ways to care for them. It features more than 130 species, including aquatic and flying animals. This means players can build more than the usual land-based habitats.
Aquariums are one of the biggest additions. Using this feature, players can create underwater homes for animals that were missing in the previous entry. However, whatever they build, they have to make sure that it meets the requirements of the animals living inside the structures.
The next feature that players must try in Planet Zoo 2 is the Aviaries. These are the homes for birds. Players can now accommodate birds like the toco toucan in their zoo and take care of them. Some aviaries can also let visitors walk through them, making the zoo feel more open and lively.
The game also includes wildlife reserves. Players can take part in projects that help animals return to the wild. In this way, players can focus on animal care and conservation, rather than only trying to attract more visitors.
The game offers several modes to choose from. Career mode gives players tasks to complete, while the Franchise mode lets them run a group of zoos and trade animals with other players. Similarly, the Sandbox mode is a good choice for those who want to build freely without the usual limits.

What Sets Planet Zoo 2 Apart From Other Games?
If you ask what’s unique in Planet Zoo 2, it's the structure of the game that brings building and animal care together. Generally, building games focus on looks alone, but the Planet Zoo sequel emphasizes making homes for animals and managing the entire zoo operations.
The gameplay doesn’t allow players to build things randomly; they have to take care of each animal and what they need before building their homes. They also need to keep the zoo clean, manage staff, and make sure guests have a good time. Players must remember that if the zoo planning is poor, visitors will struggle to roam around. This will affect the entire business. Therefore, a well-planned zoo is what makes the entire experience smoother.
Another exciting feature that players must explore in Planet Zoo 2 is the Frontier Workshop. It lets players share their designs and download creations made by others. This can help those who want new ideas or do not want to build every part of their zoo on their own. This is one of the features that sets Planet Zoo 2 apart from its predecessor.

Is Planet Zoo 2 Worth Playing?
Planet Zoo 2 offers a similar experience to the previous game, but it is still unique in its own way. It has brought a range of animals, along with aquariums, aviaries, and wildlife reserves. Above all, the game has improved its building mechanics, which will appeal to simulation fans.
The goal of the game is to offer players multiple routes to customize their experience so that the zoo feels like their own. Once you dive in, you will realize that the game will be more enjoyable to those who love building, planning, and caring for animals. It rewards players who take their time and pay attention to small details.
The price may be worth it for fans who spent many hours with the first game. New players also have plenty to explore, though they may need some time to learn how everything works. With more animals and a stronger focus on wildlife care, Planet Zoo 2 gives players a fresh reason to step into the role of a zookeeper.
