Those gathered forced her to remove the bundle of clothes she had concealed beneath her outfit, the very material she had used to fake the appearance of a baby bump.
She was then made to carry the clothes herself as she was escorted to the hospital waiting area. The confrontation drew an angry crowd, with both men and women pressing in on the suspect with questions.
At one point, a visibly irate man attempted to physically confront her, but a group of women present stepped in to shield the suspect and prevent the situation from escalating further.
Reports indicate the woman did not act alone. Her alleged accomplice, the individual who had posed as her elder sister, fled the scene once the plan was exposed and had not been apprehended at the time the incident was reported. The suspect herself was taken into police custody, though further details surrounding the case, including what precisely prompted her alleged actions, remain unclear.
The 2-day-old baby, the apparent target of the alleged abduction, was not harmed.
