Grammy Award-winning artiste Anderson .Paak and Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum rapper Cordae recently released their collaborative album Heavy Is the Crown.
Building on a high-profile track record of collaboration and major cultural and live-music momentum, this release channels their soulful sound and vibrant charisma into a powerful statement of brotherhood, resilience and legacy.
Heavy is the Crown
Spanning 11 tracks, Heavy is the Crown brings together two distinct voices united by their shared instinct for pushing creative boundaries.
The project moves between sharp, witty exchanges coupled with reflective moments and features a heavyweight production lineup that includes J. Cole on Karma Taxx, Swizz Beatz on Godfather II, Conductor Williams on Crown, 9th Wonder on You’re Mine, FNZ on Helpless and I’m On, with Hollywood Cole also producing the latter, among others.
The project was met with widespread anticipation when first announced, garnering early coverage from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Complex, The Fader, Hypebeast, SPIN and more.
Musical friendship
Rooted in the friendship that has long fuelled their creative partnership, Heavy Is the Crown balances world-class musicianship with a sense of humour.
The album artwork nods to the cult classic comedy Step Brothers, setting the tone for a project that embraces the duo’s playful dynamic.
Lead single A Good Day introduced that spirit with a comedic trailer ahead of its release, followed by a music video starring Jennifer Freeman that has amassed more than four million views on YouTube.
The track has since reached the Top 25 at Rhythmic Radio and earned praise from Stereogum, Essence, Billboard, XXL and more.
In Southeast Asia, the album launch came to life through out-of-home activations in Jakarta and Manila, featuring larger-than-life album posters that invited fans to step into the campaign, snap selfies and share the excitement across social media.
New era

Entering a new full-length collaborative era, the dynamic hip-hop duo build on their signature fusion of classic West Coast funk, neo-soul, live instrumentation and top-tier lyrical hip-hop.
Following the critical and commercial success of their previous collaborations, including 2019’s RNP (260m+ Spotify streams) and Two Tens (75M+ Spotify streams), .Paak and Cordae bring their unmistakable chemistry to a new chapter, further cementing their place among modern hip-hop’s most compelling creative pairings.
The duo will also release a special alternate-cover vinyl edition featuring original artwork by acclaimed contemporary artist Lauren Halsey, bringing her distinctive visual style to this exclusive physical release.
