The jury at the trial of the former TV presenter Russell Brand on charges including rape and sexual assault, have been told that he was a ‘ruthless, calculated and manipulative’ sexual predator.

Prosecutor Riel Karmy-Jones KC told the court that six women had come forward independently with allegations of offences between 1999 and 2009, in a variety of locations.

Russell Brand has denied all the charges.
