Vincent Kompany reportedly hospitalised after collapsing at Bayern training ground

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany has reportedly been taken to a hospital in Munich after collapsing at the club’s training ground on Friday, October 23, according to German media outlets Bild and Sky.

Reports indicate that an emergency doctor was involved in the incident, with a helicopter reportedly landing earlier at Bayern’s training facility on Säbener Straße.

Bayern Munich have yet to officially confirm the reports or provide details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The 40-year-old Belgian has been dealing with a viral infection in recent days, which forced him to miss Bayern’s final training session and pre-match press conference ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash against Arsenal.

However, Kompany returned to the touchline for Wednesday’s encounter at the Allianz Arena, where Bayern played out a 2-2 draw with the English side.

Bayern are scheduled to face SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga on Sunday, but it remains unclear whether the reported hospitalisation will affect Kompany’s availability for the fixture.

Further details about his condition and the circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to emerge.
