This weekend, Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s new film You Can See Everything broke the box office record for the biggest non-music documentary opening in history.
The doc follows Theranos founder and convicted fraudster Elizabeth Holmes and her family, including partner Billy Evans, in the 34 days before she started an 11-year prison sentence in 2023.
It’s the first doc that Holmes has participated in about her criminal activities, but by no means the only piece of media to cover her, Theranos and the criminal trial.
Whether you’ve already seen You Can See Everything and want to see more, or you’re still waiting to find a showtime with available seats, these are three titles you can check out at home to learn more about Theranos, Holmes and her fraud conviction.

The doc comes from director Alex Gibney (whose new Musk documentary hit theaters the same day as YCSE) and is inspired by John Carreyrou’s book Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup. Though Holmes declined to participate, she appears in archival footage, and the documentary features interviews with Theranos investors and advisors.

Initially six episodes following the rise and fall of Theranos plus the crimes Holmes committed, The Dropout returned for a second six-episode season in 2022 tied to Holmes’ ongoing criminal fraud federal trial.
