Guided walk covers an 8.6km route
Walkers can explore the Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar on Sunday, October 25, as Pilar de la Horadada continues its Camina con Nosotros programme.
The free guided activity combines exercise with a visit to one of the area’s distinctive natural environments, offering participants a chance to enjoy the salt flats while walking as a group.
The 8.6km route begins at 9:00 AM from the parking area at Pilar de la Horadada’s Municipal Sports Centre, which will also serve as the finishing point.
Organisers have classified the out-and-back walk as moderate difficulty and estimate it will take around two hours to complete.
Salt lagoons provide scenic setting
The Salinas de San Pedro del Pinatar provide an attractive setting for the latest outing, with the protected wetland particularly known for its salt lagoons and birdlife, including its distinctive flamingos.
The route gives participants an opportunity to enjoy the natural surroundings while taking part in an organised group activity.
The combination of walking and exploring local landscapes is at the heart of the wider Camina con Nosotros programme.
Advance registration required for free activity
Participation is free, but advance registration is required through Pilar de la Horadada’s Sports Department.
Anyone wishing to join should email comunicadeportes@pilardelahoradada.org, providing their full name, date of birth, contact telephone number and specifying the route they wish to attend.
Walking programme promotes outdoor activity
The Camina con Nosotros programme encourages residents to combine regular physical activity with the opportunity to discover natural areas in and around the region.
The latest outing offers a manageable two-hour morning walk for those wanting to explore the Salinas as part of a group rather than visiting independently.
The walk leaves the Municipal Sports Centre parking area at 9:00 AM on Sunday, October 25, before returning to the same location at the end of the 8.6km route.
