The Committee on Sanitation and Water Resources held a public hearing to assess how the respective District Assemblies had received and utilized the 20% allocation from the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) in the Central and Western Regions.
The allocation comprised 10% for sanitation and 10% for the drilling and provision of mechanized boreholes.
The hearing enabled the Committee to review the funds received by the assemblies, assess their expenditure, and examine the sanitation and mechanized borehole projects implemented. It also evaluated the progress and impact of the projects, as well as the challenges faced in accessing and utilizing the funds.
Following the presentations, members debated some of the reports submitted by the MMDAs.
